And while there surely are Thai bargirls, it’s an image that is often unfairly applied to all of the ladies in Thailand. Another collection of Thai girls that receive plenty of attention are the “Thai Brides.” These ladies tend to be from the more rural and less wealthy areas of Thailand and are mainly interested in finding a husband who can take care of her and provide a more comfortable lifestyle for her and her family.

The process of matching these marriage-minded ladies with their future husbands is often reported about in different media outlets and it has turned into quite a lucrative business. You can find numerous agencies offering “Thai Bride Tours” and plenty more dating websites that advertise “Young and Sexy Thai Girls” who are waiting to meet the foreign man of their dreams. Unfortunately, these factors have helped create another perception that, like the “bargirl” label, is frequently and incorrectly affixed to a large percentage of Thai women.

The popularity of “Thai Brides” is greatly due to their well-known openness regarding their future mates age and physical appearance. Other Thai women commonly share a similar tolerance to date older men, but are much more demanding about health and fitness issues.

Most working-class Thai ladies are not overly concerned about age differences and a great many even prefer dating gentlemen at least 10 years older than themselves. They appreciate the additional maturity, intelligence and calmness that older men normally possess. Age might not be a huge factor, but an issue that Thai ladies do care a lot about is how well a man takes care of himself. A little healthy living and some regular fitness makes a big difference in the eyes of most Thai women. 

We like to share these relatively minor details about Thai dating, but please keep in mind that the most important qualities for any Thai woman have nothing to do with age or fitness. Honesty, faithfulness, sincerity and kindness will always be at the top of their list when it comes to finding Mr. Right.
